Marbin started their musical journey back in 2007 when Danny Markovitch -saxophonist extraordinaire- and Dani Rabin -guitar wizard- met and formed the band back then in Israel. It wasn’t long before they decided to relocate in Chicago, where they launched their first album that same year, in 2009. The self titled album became very quickly “the talk of the town”, receiving praise from an array of well respected publications, including among those: All About Jazz, The Examiner, CD Baby (Editor’s Pick) and The Jazz Police.

Soon after, Markovitch and Rabin found themselves collaborating with Paul Wertico -seven time Grammy Award winner- on his critically acclaimed album “Impressions of a City”, which received 4.5 stars -out of 5-  from Downbeat magazine, The Chicago Tribune, Drum! magazine, A.V. Onion Club and Modern Drummer, among other well known publications.

This collaboration gave rise for Wertico to take part, in turn, on Marbin’s second album, “Breaking The Cycle”, which was released by Moonjune Records on March 15 of this year.

“Breaking The Cycle” not only features Paul Wertico -seven time Grammy Award winner with the Pat Metheny Group- on drumms, but also features Steve Rodby -eleven time Grammy Award winner with the Pat Metheny Group- on bass, and Jamey Haddad -Paul Simon’s band- on percussion.

The combination of the experience of these veteran musicians with Markovitch’s and Rabin’s wonderful compositional skills, has resulted in a superlative album very well crafted by the abundant talent and musicianship of these five extraordinary artists.

After all, their growing number of fans and followers leaves at least one thing clear… Marbin is here to stay!
