Win and Woo are coming to you.

The dynamic duo from Chicago is comprised of Nick Winholt and Austin Woo. They will be performing live at 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1 at Hangar 9.

Win and Woo have been playing together for the past six years.

“We have a unique style when it comes to DJing,” Winholt said. “We take a lot of different styles and what we love and add our own twist to it.”

Their electronic pop inspired blend of heavy melodies and driving bass lines work seamlessly with intricate percussion and organic elements. The two friends draw inspiration from those who create music that can withstand the test of time and push the limits of their creativity.

They released their debut single “Recognize” featuring Ashe on Sept. 1, 2016. The pair has another single coming out in early December called In Love Again which will be more of a dance track. The two are constantly working with vocalists to come up with new music.

In addition to headlining their own shows they have worked with some of dance/pop music’s biggest rising stars such as The Chainsmokers, Phoebe Ryan, and Louis The Child.

The pair connects with their audience by sticking around after shows and providing an opportunity to meet them and ask questions. They have a phone number they give out to people who want to reach out and talk with them.

Winholt said the duo enjoys playing at all type of venues from large festivals to small clubs as the variety of atmospheres keep the experience of playing music fresh.

While Winholt and Woo have not played in Southern Illinois before, they both spent some time in Carbondale when they were attending college.

The pair are looking forward to playing at the Hangar 9 because they have heard about how the venue allows for a combination of the intimacy of a small club, but also for the excitement a show at a large location provides.

“We are so excited and pumped up to headline a show in Southern Illinois,” Winholt said. “It’s incredible to just come there and show people what we are all about and go full speed with our music. We want everyone to enjoy the show as much as we love playing them.”
