Marshall Anderson - guitar
Americana, alt country, folk
Hi, my name's Marshall, and I've been playing guitar since I was fifteen years old back in State College Pennsylvania, and singing at family gatherings and such longer than I can remember. Music has always been my passion though I can't say it's ever come easily to me, and so, about five years ago, I quit my salaried office job, moved to Illinois, and began the musical journey that has led me to where I am today. I first started gigging in the Carbondale, IL area with local americana rockers the Bone Dry River Band, where I was able to sharpen my lead guitar chops, and then with the acoustic duo the Voyageurs, where I learned to sing harmonies, and just became a more solid musician overall. Now I split my time between playing solo shows, backing up my dad on his music, playing in a folk noir duo, and cutting loose with my big funky blues band The Whiskey Caper. Southern Illinois has been very good to me, and I'd like to return the favor by entertaining as many people as I can with my music.
I play both originals and covers, and play a lot of gigs where I do a lot of covers, but would like to start getting some gigs where I get to play more of my original stuff.
